Convoso's holiday drive results in toys & new tech for local charity

Convoso, a SaaS company out of Woodland Hills, CA, used this holiday season to show that sometimes the best service is giving back. The software company is famously known for being the first to add gamification to an end-to-end contact center solution. For this holiday season, Convoso linked up with Westside Children's Center for their first annual charity drive.


With the help of a successful GoFundMe campaign, alongside a great toy and goods collecting effort, Convoso was able to donate nearly 20 brand new tablets and hundreds of toys to the children’s support center. Convoso’s GoFundMe campaign was launched on December 16th with a goal of $1,000. Thanks to the generosity of the Convoso social following– the goal was achieved and surpassed in less than 48 hours! The money from the campaign was used to purchase the tablets given to Westside Children’s Center.


25 years ago Westside Children’s Center was founded as a foster family agency. Today, the charity organization sustains its mission of rehabilitating families by building upon family values, educating children in need, or by facilitating family reunions and keeping families together. The organization operates as an education/rehabilitation source for children in high risk situations or at risk of receiving limited necessities due to external family problems, with the mentality that “Prevention is the best kind of intervention.”


The charity drive was launched by Convoso’s marketing assistant Emily Cuilty.  “Since the recent rebrand from Safesoft Solutions to Convoso, we wanted to make sure that in the midst of all these hectic changes, we were still incorporating our company’s core values. ‘Superhero Service’ is not limited to our support of customer service or sales representatives. We wanted to go above and beyond this year to make sure that support carried over to those who are less fortunate.” Cuilty said.


The drive began on December 15th, 2016 with a social media presence. According to Convoso’s official graphic debuting the charity effort, the drive had two options to donate: a Convoso toy drop off located at their corporate office or a special pick up service. The memo, launched across all of Convoso’s social media, was heavily promoted throughout the holiday season.


December 22nd marked the closure of the drive, when Convoso’s CEO Nima Hakimi and Emily Cuilty went to hand-deliver the gifts to Westside’s office in Culver City. “We have had such a great year within our successful rebrand. I felt that one of the most important ways to say thanks was to give back to our community. Being able to actually hand deliver the gifts to this charity was more rewarding than anything I have ever received.” said Hakimi.


According to Tasha Stiger, Child Welfare Program Manager at Westside Children’s Center, “It has been tremendously wonderful to work with Convoso. A lot of families do not have technology available to them, for real exposure to what the world is like today. For many families the tablets given to us might be the only connection they have with social media and the digital age.”
